The invention

The RaniPill is a drug delivery platform that is swallowed as a pill. Once in the small intenstines, a self-inflating balloon opens and a syringe injects a microneedle into the intestinal wall and delivers the drug payload. The delivery mechanism deflates and is passed naturally. The RaniPill allows injectable drugs to be consumed in a pill form.

Performance advantages

RaniPill has the bioavailability of a subcutaneous inject and can deliver any biologic. But compared to an injection, the RaniPill is both painless and provides a more efficient route of delivery.
